RUSSELL LEPLEY    Co-Founder/ Resident Choreographer   Russell Lepley, co-Founder and resident choreographer of FluxFlow Dance Project, developed the dance space Flux + Flow Dance and Movement Center in Columbus, Ohio in 2017 alongside his husband and collaborator, Filippo Pelacchi. Russell has created and presented 6 works in Columbus since the project’s inception performing at The Columbus Museum of Art, The Wexner Center for the Arts, the Riffe’s Davidson Theater, The Fisher Theater, The Garden Theater and the Franklinton Playhouse and has been awarded the Columbus Dances Fellowship Grant. He first explored his voice as a choreographer while working as a dancer in Les Grands Ballets Canadiens (Montreal, Canada), Hessisches Staatstheater Wiesbaden (Germany), and Gärtnerplatztheater (Munich, Germany) where he participated in young choreographer evenings produced by the companies. His first professional commission, “Lovely and Awful”, came in 2016 for Gärtnerplatztheater and the piece was so well received it was later selected to be a part of “Theater Tagen”, a theater and dance festival in Regensburg, Germany. He is passionate about creating cross-disciplinary work that incorporates live music and elements of theater and his movement vocabulary is informed by the diverse and varied experiences he had as a dancer.

He danced professionally with Ballet Junior Geneve (Switzerland), Introdans (Netherlands), Gaertnerplatztheater (Munich, Germany) and is currently dancing with FluxFlow Dance Project. Over the course of his career, he danced the work of renowned choreographers Alexander Ekman, Nacho Duato, Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, Gustavo Ramirez Sensano, Jo Stromgren, Lucinda Childs, and Marko Goecke among others. He moved to Columbus, Ohio in 2017 to found the dance space Flux + Flow Dance and Movement Center with his husband and collaborator, Russell Lepley. Beyond a performer, he is an exceptionally passionate teacher and works to make dance accessible to all people.

KELLY HURLBURT    Performing Artist   Kelly Hurlburt is a dancer with roots in Columbus, Ohio. After receiving a B.F.A. in Dance at OSU, she has performed in many projects and taught nationally across the US, and internationally in Israel, China, Spain and Denmark. She has led workshops at Ullens Center for Contemporary Art in Beijing, Shanghai University, Beijing Dance Academy, Zichri Theater in Kibbutz, Ga’aton and throughout Denmark. She has studied extensively with and performed work by Bebe Miller, Noa Zuk, Abby Zbikowski, Mats Ek, Rami Be'er and Nancy Stark Smith. Kelly frequently travels nationally, as well, to Earthdance, SFDI and to work with other artists like Angie Hauser, Chris Aiken, KJ Holmes and Karen Nelson. Kelly co-directs SeaBus, a collaborative improvisational dance company, with partner, Josh Hines. When she isn't performing, Kelly dedicates time to facilitating class in the Columbus Community and being an advocate for dance in Columbus by participating as a founding member of Columbus Dance Alliance.
